Summary of primary job functions

Ø Responsible for establishing and executing major goals and objectives for the organization.

Ø Implements policies established by the board of directors.

Ø Provides leadership, direction and guidance of Organization’s activities.

Ø Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of all organization operations.

Ø Develops and maintains organizational structure and effective personnel.

Ø Coordinates major activities through subordinates and appraises assigned personnel.

Ø Represents the Organization to regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders and supporters, and the public.

Ø Ensures compliance to minimum standards in accordance with all government legislation, regulations and guidelines pertinent to the organization’s role as an employer and non-profit agency

Ø Submits all information, reports and records as requested or required by law to appropriate government officials, the President or the board of directors

Ø Develops and implements operational plans, policies, and goals that further strategic objectives

Ø Maintains full awareness of the complete financial, statistical, and accounting records of the organization

Ø Ensuring that operating results established in the annual budget are achieved and the control of operating expenses within budget

Ø Ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial accounting and reporting

Ø To ensure that Program and the Safe House activities are monitored and implemented, evaluated on a scheduled basis

Major achievements

Ø SEPT.2021,AWARDED AS THE 1ST RUNNERS UP ,GENDER AND EQUALITY BY THE NATIONAL GENDER AND EQUALITY COMMISSION -KENYA

Ø Establishment of a Safe House/Rescue Centre for girls who are survivors of cultural & GBV in Laikipia North

Ø Establishment of a child and women friendly health centre in Doldol

Ø Rescue and rehabilitation of more than 2000 girls from FGM, Child Marriage and Samburu beading

Ø Education sponsorship to 502 OVCs, boys and girls allover Laikipia county

Ø Acquired 13 acres of land from the government for the establishment of the girls’ rescue Centre

Ø Appointed by MoE as the Vice Chair County Education Board

Ø Appointed by Judiciary to represent CSOs in Court Users Committee

Ø Appointed to represent the county in the National coalition on counter Trafficking in Person (CTiP)

Ø In partnership with International Rescue Committee, trained the security team and Court Users Committee on Laws on Human Trafficking

Ø Initiated a Poverty eradication program in Laikipia, with 6 women groups registered

Summary of Duty Functions

Ø Assist in ensuring that the activities of the organization are well thought out in advance and planned within the context of UNCRC, Children’s Act and other international conventions/declarations on the rights of the child.

Ø Assist the Executive Director to plan and facilitate training of all Branch staff and partners on Child Rights, abuse, ARH, protection and child participation

Ø Community mobilization in support of OVC care and programming and gender and Development programming

Ø Mobilizing adolescents and youth, Coordinate and supervise the implementation of adolescent and youth reproductive health friendly services, behavior change communication and mobile theatre activities

Ø Scrutinizing and verify all applications and reports on foster and adoption and prepare final submissions to the relevant authorities in accordance with existing national and international rules and procedures

Ø Ensuring that children’s files are maintained in order and up to date

Ø To raise funds to support Programme activities and cost of running the Institutional Care Programme (Nanyuki Children`s Home) and the branch.

Ø To ensure that Program and the Home activities are monitored and implemented, evaluated on a scheduled basis

Ø Financial mobilization and Management

Ø Ensuring staff performance is planned and evaluated regularly and improvement action taken

Ø Construction of modern dormitories and multi-purpose hall at Nanyuki Children`s Home

Ø Mobilized financial resources for borehole drilling and equipping of a borehole for the realization of an Irrigation project at the Nanyuki Children`s Home

Ø mobilized resources for the Construction and equipping of the Laikipia Adolescent and Youth Friendly Centre at Nanyuki Teaching

Ø Successfully mobilized resources in aid of Education Sponsorship to 250 HIV/AIDS OVCs

Ø Mobilized resources for Equipping Likii Special Unit

Ø Trainined and empowered 8 youth Groups on SRH

Ø Started 30 Child Rights Clubs in Laikipia

Ø Training 40 health workers on Youth friendly services

Ø Initiates a child Labor program with ILO in Laikipia

Ø Presented memorandum to Ghai Commission on children`s rights and Kenya constitution 2010
