∑ Work in conjunction with the field to complete field oriented tasks

Successfully completed a trade project on the topic
“Adulteration of raw milk rendered in Thika Sub-urbs”.
And acquired substantial skills in determination of: fat content by Gerber method, specific gravity, and clot on boiling, total dissolved solids, water content, PH, titratable acidity, methylene blue test, presence of Hydrogen peroxide in both raw and processed milk.
(A trade project is a research done and presented by trainees before the completion of a course in the particular specified field)
Preparation of samples for analysis, Analysis of various samples (water, detergents and other samples),determination of chloride,sulphates using the gravimetric methods, determination of lithium, potassium and sodium content in water using the flame photometry, determination of iron, fluoride and nitrate content in water using the UV spectrophotometer, determination of chemical oxygen demand(COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) in water effluents and general laboratory housekeeping.
