Lead Technical and operational leadership in both countries

• Support over fifty farmer cooperatives /organizations and farmer federations under the Farmer-Focused Transformation (FFT) and ACTING NOW projects in Kenya and Tanzania to draft compelling grant and policy proposals for funding
• Coordinate over 10 lead cooperative advisors in multiple value chains (dairy, coffee, tea, maize, potatoes) in various projects to analyze client’s business cases to align to fund requirements and member needs, governance, finance, and climate cleverness checks for purposes of onboarding and identification of potential areas for collaboration and action planning or financing

Coordinate Research and participatory client/product development

• In liaison with Project leads and a team of cooperative advisors, coordinate, and conduct comprehensive industry /value chain feasibility, investment, market, and sales potential analysis, and evaluate selected business costs to ascertain viability, profitability, and sustainability of planned investments

Facilitate project Execution, participation of clients and M&E

• Support multiple cooperatives to design, write, and produce high-impact success stories using the Challenge Action and Result (CAR) Framework
• Support participating farmer organizations to negotiate and draft contract agreements and grant signings plus ensuring open, objective discussions with clients as they submit periodic progress reports from time to time
• Support program Monitoring and Evaluation team to review client activities (Financial and results), make recommendations for knowledge management, and transfer of best applicable models e.g Commercial fodder production

Support strategic Partnerships & collaborations with HQ

• Represent Agriterra in business development meetings with donors and development partners in cooperative development and policy
• Ensure seamless coordination of policy, grant, and lobby activities between a team of business advisors in East Africa, and Netherlands, and other regions.

• Led review of Mama Fresh agribusiness, resource mobilization, and strategic partnership framework for 2021 -2027, while anchoring its operations at Mama Doing Good
• Identified and devised implementation strategies to secure funding from existing and potential partners for co-creation, and co-investment, and prepare and negotiate funding agreements in full compliance with the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the 1st Lady of the Republic of Kenya office
• Liaised with project Leaders, such as MEDA, to manage resources for all potential and assigned projects and communicate any resourcing issues that may impact scheduled deadlines.

• In liaison with Project leads and a team of cooperative advisors, coordinate, and conduct comprehensive industry /value chain feasibility, investment, market, and sales potential analysis, and evaluate selected business costs to ascertain viability, profitability, and sustainability of planned investments
• Lead design, and implementation of the Joyful cooperative model for successful input and output market linkages in program areas
• Coordinate a team of Livelihood advisors to identify, analyze, and profile beneficiary farmers and local entrepreneur clusters (ECs) for gender, youth, and environmentally sensitive Technology adoption and Impact Acceleration Grants in project areas
• In consultation with Finance, Procurement, and M/E Country office, developed, negotiated contracts, and documented success stories for social impact as per management and donor reporting lines.

• Advise the deputy president and the spouse on the overall agribusiness strategy at Yegen Farms to optimize profitability and attain sustainability
• Hence, from time to time, undertook enterprise and value chain analysis, to resolve internal priorities
• Provided technical leadership including setting up new products and small business units (SBUs and securing all necessary legal obligations, licenses, and permits required to conduct selected investment options
• This included undertaking Global GAAP certification for the Farm
• In liaison with the MEDA Project officer and Head of Program at Joyful Women, facilitate peer-to-peer learning for selected local youth and women agri-preneurs for business partnership, skills training & capacity building in project areas
• Supervised over 60 professionals in agronomy and marketing and used participatory and objective processes to develop multi-annual work plans and targets
• Professionalize the HR and Finance departments at the farm and improve staff performance and marketing efficiency, transparency, and traceability
• This grew the firm portfolio from KES 8 million to KES 330 million in just 3 years.

• Create and stimulate market demand for new and existing high-chem crop products: pesticides and foliar fertilizers
• Undertake competitor product analysis and report on such competition activities
• Plan product promotional activities e.g Result and method demos and liaise with the product development team to report on product efficacy /performance at field demonstration plots
• Coordinated demand-driven extension and marketing approach e.g Penetration and dominant strategies to ensure brand development and posterity
• Conduct periodic farmer, stockiest, and main distributor visits to advise and train on pest disease and nutrition management and initiate sales orders while ensuring timely payments were made to Twiga Chemicals.

• Assisted the Agribusiness Manager in Value Chain and stakeholders’ analysis, planning training exercises, and coordinating horticulture exchange platforms that may facilitate the exchange of ideas and trade
• Assisted the entire project team in implementation to stimulate horticulture (input and market) value chain integration and establish linkages with targeted stakeholders
• Assisted the M/E team with data validation, and data management for decision-making and compiling reports in line with the IFAD Result Information Management system (RIMs).

• Create and stimulate market demand for new and existing Twiga chemicals Products: pesticides and foliar fertilizers
• Supported the Marketing team to identify shortlist and contract and engage off takers to ensure the availability of produce market for Twiga Farmers in the Narok and Bomet region
• Supported the product development team to perform Product stewardship activities e.g Product demos that would eventually create and stimulate market demand for Twiga Products
• Supported the Sales & marketing team in performing product, market analysis, and competitors/ activities in assigned territory
• Conducted client training e.g Farmer/stockiest on product selling points, Unique attributes, and competing products in the territory
• Assign product targets to product promoters and evaluate their performance occasionally.

• Assisted the M/E team with data validation, and data management for decision-making and compiling reports in line with the IFAD Result Information Management system (RIMs)
• Worked closely with value chain stakeholders like input providers, public sector units, and Business and Market Linkage Service providers to plan and coordinate training sessions for various stakeholders and trainer of trainees (TOT)
• Assisted in review of project success as per the baseline survey: beneficiaries, Appraisals of business plans, Monitoring, and evaluation of Projects in Kenya
• Assisted Agribusiness officer in undertaking technical Project Reporting in line with guidelines of the UN as well as undertaking Programme Reviews and appraisals in Kenya.
