During my tenure as a Volunteer Data Analyst at Magoso Community Center, a CBO startup, I had the opportunity to contribute in a hybrid role, dedicating full-time availability during holidays and part-time engagement during active academic sessions. In this position, my primary responsibilities involved data collection, data cleaning, and data analysis, focusing on the organization's programs and activities, including community outreach and educational initiatives.

I actively gathered relevant data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness, and employed data cleaning techniques to enhance its quality. Through statistical analysis, I extracted valuable insights and trends that informed decision-making and program improvement efforts. To effectively communicate these findings, I created comprehensive reports and visually engaging visualizations, enabling stakeholders to comprehend and leverage the insights for informed decision-making.

At NHIF Kenya, I gained experience in customer service, biometric registration, and database management while enrolling individuals in the Universal Healthcare Scheme. I was responsible for processing new applications and verifying the accuracy of information provided.

In addition to customer service, I also supported data management and fieldwork activities, which involved visiting remote areas of Kenya to ensure that members of the scheme had access to the necessary healthcare services. I also assisted with filling hospital claims, ensuring that members received the benefits they were entitled to.

My experience at NHIF Kenya allowed me to develop strong interpersonal and communication skills while working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. I gained practical experience in data management and database systems and acquired valuable insights into the healthcare industry in Kenya.

Research Assistant

During my tenure at MISL Consultants, I had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in data collection, management, and analysis, as well as fieldwork and research protocols. My role encompassed active participation in diverse research projects, including the evaluation of the Independent and Electoral Boundary Commission 2017 post-election and fresh presidential election. In this capacity, I conducted research and performed data analysis to derive insights and findings.

Furthermore, I was actively involved in post-election surveys, contributing to the understanding of voter behavior and attitudes towards the electoral process. The insights I provided played a crucial role in informing election stakeholders. As part of the MISL team, I actively contributed to the development of reports and recommendations, emphasizing key findings and suggesting improvements to election processes in Kenya.

In addition to electoral processes, I had the opportunity to participate in other evaluation projects, such as the Elimu Bora School Report Card project for Marsabit and Isiolo counties. In this project, I collected both primary and secondary data and provided benchmarking for indicators related to preparedness, assessment, and timely response.

Throughout my experience at MISL, I actively contributed to the development and implementation of research protocols and data collection tools. Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the collected data was a priority, allowing for robust analysis and informed decision-making.

Overall, my experience at MISL Consultants provided me with a strong foundation in data collection, management, and analysis. I have gained significant expertise in conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to reports and recommendations.
