I am responsible for:

  • Delivering on the vision for a combined top-down, bottom-up global strategy for a global Catholic campaign in the intersection of biodiversity and climate.
  • Mobilizing new partnerships and growing existing communities of engagement in the global south nations.
  • Developing and delivering public advocacy engagements to address climate justice.
  • Working with partners and regional organizers across the world to provide mentoring support to Laudato Si' Animators, LSM members and partners engaged in biodiversity and climate advocacy campaigns.
  • Supporting development and delivery of advocacy and campaigning modules in LSM's Laudato Si Animators (LSAs) trainings.
  • Plan and deliver global activities to achieve campaign goals on biodiversity and climate change.

  • Developed and maintained collaboration with the Vatican and other like-minded partners like Ministry of Environment in Kenya, Senegal, and Canada during the COP processes, UNEP, Faith for Earth, A Rocha International, WWF and Faith & Biodiversity UN Coordination Group.
  • Designed and led advocacy training for LSM members across the globe.
  • Established LSM's global advisory advocacy group and regional advocacy working groups in all the continents contributing to LSM's mission.

  • Mapping and developing partner facing avenues with government.
  • Maintaining tactical control of project budgets and timelines to keep teams on-task and achieve schedule targets.
  • Negotiating vendor contracts and managed relationships.
  • Mapping and working with both international and local media to amplify advocacy engagements.
  • Establishing cohesive team by inspiring confidence and offering guidance.

Key achievements:

  • Under Daima Green spaces (National coalition), we ran public media campaign calling for better infrastructural development planning. Secured National government partnership in developing public participation platforms to deliver 'a city that people need' concepts.
  • Under 'My Mark My City' Urban development campaign, we worked with the county government to include cycling lanes, beautify Nairobi city and developed a Nairobi county government strategy on building back better resilient cities with UNDP and UN-HABITAT.
  • Supported the revamping of the Wangari Mathaai corner at Uhuru Park with the Nairobi County Government, an open peoples green space in Nairobi. We also developed a park upgrading plan with the Nairobi County Government.
  • Working with the County Government of Kitui, we developed and implemented a renewable energy campaign that had us train women on clean and energy efficient cooking 'jikos', (cookers).
  • Continued engagement with JIACTIVATE that promoted inclusion of young people within the political discourse and promoting access to sexual reproductive health services.
  • With Save Lamu, we developed social and mainstream media campaign that celebrated Lamu town, its heritage and culture that would be impacted by the proposed coal plant.
  • Through the SRHR campaign, we worked with the teenage mothers in the marginalized communities in Kajiado and Kilifi counties of Kenya to empower them through sexuality education.

  • Developed the 'We have faith' petition with partner organizations to call for youth inclusion within the UNFCCC negotiations and national governments.
  • Through the above campaign, we were recognized and invited into the UNFCCC negotiations to deliver our Africa Youth demands and contributed in developing submissions with the Kenyan government.
  • We worked with both country and international media platforms to promote the campaign demands.
  • Worked with national marginalized communities, North Eastern, Kajiado, Samburu and Maasai, to share stories of climate impacts they are facing and demand for climate justice.
  • Our membership up to date still participates in development of national environmental plans.
