• Handle day-to-day running of orchestra ensuring high levels of productivity and progression.
• Maintaining musical instruments to achieve operational readiness, safety and cleanliness.
• Working closely with other music directors to maintain optimum levels of music education in country
• Carrying out day-to day duties accurately and efficiently.
• Creating plans and communicated deadlines to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Coordinating with departmental employees to maintain continuity of music lesson objectives, planning and execution.
• Consulting with parents and guardians to convene on student performance, conduct and educational prioritization.
• Advising parents of student progress by communicating student's achievements and developing methods for improvement.
• Maintaining student records and evaluated each pupil's musical growth, performance and musical understanding.
• Orchestrating and implementing tutor's workshops for professional learning to carry out vital training.
• Oversee all preparation and supervise implementation of curriculums.
• Ensure resources required to implement curriculums are available to tutors by preparing resource order lists and presenting them to admin team.
• Ensure that there is high standard of teaching and regular practice by pupils.
• Be accountable, and report regularly to Director of Music, Pastoral and Admin teams.
• Ensure that records of work and lesson plans are up to date (Weekly).

Currently I'm a Trombone and recorder tutor where I;

• Establish and maintain network of music contacts to promote work continuity.
• Attend all lessons on time.
• Assess student readiness to join other orchestras and submit recommendations.
• Motivate students to practice music by practicing to encourage progress.
• Acquire teaching materials and resources to facilitate music instruction.
• Make lessons interesting and engaging using art and visual aids to boost learning.
• Plan, teach, assess and report on pupils progress
• Attend meetings/INSET when called upon
• Inspect condition of instrument before and after session

Currently some of duties;

• Sending out official communication to tutors, section leaders, players,parents and collecting responses.
• Updating and maintaining membership list per section, with records of players' participation per event.
• Developing and maintaining archive of KNYO performances, showing venue, programs and partners.
• Coordinating detailed planning with musical, logistical, educational, social and pastoral volunteers for each event.
• Making sure all events are discussed into detail
• Organizing and coordinating all events.

2.Assessment -To have up-to-date knowledge of, arrange and prepare pupils for instrumental and school examinations as appropriate in the syllabi offered at MFA (ABRSM/KCSE/BTEC/MYP/IBDP )

b)Instrument repair service provide

c)Student friendly instrument models (Sturdy, accurate tuning, good quality and reasonably priced)

To ensure students are given performance opportunities on a termly basis as part of their curriculum

6.Health and safety

To ensure the general safety and well-being of students, observing appropriate conduct and class management in line with the existing school policy.

To ensure all premises in which activities take place receive due care (orderly, clean/hygienic and safe.

7.Professional Development

To attend INSET training and other relevant meetings at the request of the Head of music.

Continue to refine and broaden area of expertise.

To adhere to MFA programme of teacher appraisal and development. To maintain and update a thorough knowledge of developments in teaching pedagogy on your instrument.

9.To keep written records as required by SMS of planning and assessing pupils at all stages of learning to enable feedback to schools, parents and other agencies
