• Successfully conducted eight high-quality Nutrition Surveys using the SMART methodology in Leer, Mayendit and Fashoda counties of South Sudan. All the surveys were validated and final reports were timely submitted.

• Planned and implemented 2 Surveys in Mogadishu, Somalia, using SMART & SQUEAC methodologies.
• Training, supervision and team arrangement of survey teams with support from ACF nutrition management team.
• Coordination of surveys by holding meetings with stakeholders and local authorities to brief them on survey implementation.
• Oversaw data collection, data entry, performing quality checks, giving feedback to survey teams, data cleaning and analysis.
• Prepared and presented survey reports containing all deliverables.

• Successfully conducted high-quality surveys using SMART & SQUEAC methodologies in Mogadishu, Somalia.

• Grants Management, i.e., ensure adherence to budgets by reviewing expenditures, and spending patterns, preparing cash forecasts based on planned activities, and ensuring tracking and reporting on nutrition supplies.
• Contributed to proposal writing.
• Provided on-the-job training to Volunteers and existing CHWs and determined capacity gaps for further refresher training sessions.
• Identified, recruited and trained volunteers on nutrition to implement community-based HiNi (high-impact nutrition interventions) activities.
• Coordinated simulation sessions for the volunteers in close coordination with the MOH team (DHMT: specifically, DNO and DMOH), UNICEF Nutrition support officer (NSO) and the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) teams.

• Successfully conducted Cost of Diet and SLEAC surveys in Garissa county in partnership with ACF, Mercy USA, Ministry of Health and Terre des hommes.

• Directly planned, scheduled and supervised project activities.
• Identified training needs and supervised the technical training of all national staff working in the community and clinical nutrition components of the project.
• Oversaw the project budget and ensured a smooth cash flow.
• Supply chain management of nutrition commodity supplies from donors such as WFP & UNICEF.
• Ensured accurate and timely reporting of activities.
• Reported on security issues and complied with security plans.
• Managed nutrition project staff & oversaw the following roles: recruitment, appraisal, general well-being, job description, work schedules, discipline and so on.

Key achievement

• Led a 12-member nutrition team in full cycle project implementation out of which we conducted rapid needs assessments, KAP survey, monitoring and other activities geared towards successful realization of the project’s goal.

• Trained health facility staff (i.e., nurses, clinicians, community extension health workers-CHEWs) on high-impact nutrition interventions.
• Advised patients at the health facilities level with nutritionally related non-communicable & lifestyle illnesses, e.g. HIV/AIDS, diabetes mellitus etc., on diets and proper nutrition.

• Supported Health facilities in timely and accurate reporting.
• Promoted the formation of mother-to-mother support groups at the health facilities.
