Achievement:

• I influenced Gender Impact Assessments (GIA) as part of pre-feasibility studies for the Tullow Project. GIA continues to be dynamic with innovations being done at a pace that legislation is unable to keep up with.

• Effective coordination with the project team to ensure delivery of results.
• Supporting FIDA in their advocacy, litigation and legal aid programs.
• Conducting visits to communities to offer strategic advice and guidance on matters affecting such communities touching on women, persons living with disabilities and children rights in line with FIDA’s mandate.
• Conducting research in FIDA’s core areas of programs.
• Facilitating Legal aid program activities.
• Representing women and children in court on Probono basis.
• Consultant in UNDP-AMKENI WAKENYA project whereby I reviewed closed criminal matters and researched on whether due judicial process was followed and reporting.
• Training on UNSMR Guidelines and the prisoners’ rights to various stakeholders including Judiciary, Prison Officials and prisoners.
• Advocacy on gender mainstreaming in enhancing fairtrade for women workers on tea and flower plantations through Gender Equality and Diversity Policy and gender specific work.

• I spearheaded the successful release of a minor who was wrongfully imprisoned for child abandonment and ensured she reunited with her family.
• Enhanced the fight for human rights protection through advocacy especially matters prisoners’ rights, women rights and child protection.

Achievement:

• I was recognized as an excellent trainee at the firm and retained in the Commercial and Conveyancing department due to my great work in the firm
• I collaborated in doing research and reviewing the Land Value Index Laws and preparation of Local Content Policy that was later adopted as a bill for the Tullow project under Esal which is a Company under the firm.
