GIZ - Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector (GIAE) project was part of the special initiative, which was dedicated to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals that relate to poverty and hunger. The objective of the programme is to promote innovations that increase farmer incomes, boost employment and improve local food suppliers.

  • Planning, Coordination and Communication of project activities (activities plans, budgeting, reporting and reviews).
  • Development and management of partnerships with relevant organizations, institutions and individuals (National and County levels)
  • Organization and coordination of capacity building activities including training material development, direct training facilitation and supervision.
  • GIAE contact person for the SBOSH project implemented by CARE Kenya
  • Development of training materials including Entrepreneurship, Value Addition for Sweet Potato, Productivity Improvement and Quality Management in Dairy and Sweet Potato Enterprises. Also in collaboration with CARE Kenya, developed the Coaching and Mentorship, Financial Literacy and VSLA Methodology training guides.
  • Participating in the project annual appraisal missions aimed at identifying project progress and finding performance improvement opportunities (informing on the future).Analysis, identification and supporting development of businesses along the dairy and sweet potato value chains (upstream and downstream).
  • Development of financial, marketing and technology linkages for both the dairy and sweet potato farmers.
  • Capacity building of partner organizations (implementing partners) and other stakeholders in the areas of organization development, financial management and training facilitation
  • Concept development and action planning as the GIAE focal person for Youth Employment and Agricultural Mechanization Working groups within GIZ Global family (represented the project in the biannual meeting in Ethiopia, India and Ivory Coast)
