The assignment is for Developing Capacity (Mentorship, Coaching, and Training) for Stoves Businesses in Kenya for the GIZ - Green Climate Fund (GCF)/ENDEV Project specifically:-

• Provide business advisory services to selected ICS enterprises
• Assess and develop financials and projections that will guide entrepreneurs in building a bankable business plan.
• Help entrepreneurs prepare for pitches for commercial investments and funding
• Assess the feasibility and viability of alternative financing mechanisms in Kenya that entrepreneurs can leverage to improve their business.
• Conduct feasibility of developing and integrating SACCOs and investment platforms to serve ICS Entrepreneurs

• As a team member of GIZ Agrijobs 4 Youth Project Appraisal Mission team, support in the data collection and the development of a proposal to BMZ for the Youth Employment in the Agri-Food Sector for a new 2-year project
• To assess the potential entry points, identify strategic partners and synergies as well as understand the needs and demands of the target group (youths in agriculture)
• Review the efficiency and suitability of the approaches promoted by agrijobs 4 Youth Project in transforming agriculture and food systems in Western Kenya
• Identify approaches utilized in Kenya to foster youth employment and women empowerment
• Identify sectors or sub-sectors with the highest potential for an employment-oriented transformation agri-food systems
• Identify ways of fostering adaptation capacities to the impacts of climate change
• Identify potential private, public and civil society partners to collaborate with
• Suggest how the project outcomes will be measured.

GIZ - Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector (GIAE) project was part of the special initiative, which was dedicated to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals that relate to poverty and hunger. The objective of the programme is to promote innovations that increase farmer incomes, boost employment and improve local food suppliers.

• Planning, Coordination and Communication of project activities (activities plans, budgeting, reporting and reviews).
• Development and management of partnerships with relevant organizations, institutions and individuals (National and County levels)
• Organization and coordination of capacity building activities including training material development, direct training facilitation and supervision.
• GIAE contact person for the SBOSH project implemented by CARE Kenya
• Development of training materials including Entrepreneurship, Value Addition for Sweet Potato, Productivity Improvement and Quality Management in Dairy and Sweet Potato Enterprises. Also in collaboration with CARE Kenya, developed the Coaching and Mentorship, Financial Literacy and VSLA Methodology training guides.
• Participating in the project annual appraisal missions aimed at identifying project progress and finding performance improvement opportunities (informing on the future).Analysis, identification and supporting development of businesses along the dairy and sweet potato value chains (upstream and downstream).
• Development of financial, marketing and technology linkages for both the dairy and sweet potato farmers.
• Capacity building of partner organizations (implementing partners) and other stakeholders in the areas of organization development, financial management and training facilitation
• Concept development and action planning as the GIAE focal person for Youth Employment and Agricultural Mechanization Working groups within GIZ Global family (represented the project in the biannual meeting in Ethiopia, India and Ivory Coast)
• Mobilizing and strengthening of farmer group as well as Farmer Producer and Marketing Groups in close collaboration with the MoA, Cooperative and Social Services Departments.
• Collaboration with the private sector within the sweet potato value chain for market linkage development leading to a vibrant sweet potato seed and roots market (development of the market system - roots and planting materials)
• Preparation of ToRs for various consultancy services, identifying and supervising consultants for delivery of the assignments
• Developments of the project annual work plans, participating in conferences, workshops and projects meetings as well as coordinating the implementing partners.

• Participation in the development of various business curriculum modules in the School of Business and Economics
• Preparation of teaching materials Teaching, Evaluation and Guiding Entrepreneurship and Business Management students in projects and proposals writing
• Liaising with the industry with the aim of supporting students to acquire attachment opportunities
• Participating in the outreach activities aimed at building a cordial relationship between the University and the community (like through training)
• Teaching areas includes: - Entrepreneurship, International Trade, Strategic Management, Project Management, and Business Management including Marketing, Research Methods and other general business courses.
• Provided guidance to students on course selection, career planning, and other educational matters.

• Community Based Health Care (CBHC) was a community-based organization working in areas of health development in a holistically integrated approach among the rural communities of Western Highland of Papua New Guinea and affiliated to the Nazarene Health Ministries Papua New Guinea
• Supporting economic interventions that impacted on the livelihoods of the communities which had direct impact on their health
• Capacity building through training to local partners and members of the Community in order they could provide any future training and advice to Communities
• Development a Community/Village Banking system
• Mobilization of Communities into marketing cooperatives and linking them to the coffee export agencies
• Development of a Monitoring and Evaluation framework for the CBHC Project
• Building working relationships with NGOs, CBOs, Church Based Organizations and Government Departments with a view to place VSO volunteers and assist them initiate micro saving initiatives
• Recruiting potential partners, development of placement documentation and organization profiles with a view to placing volunteers.

• Prepare teaching materials, teach and evaluate students (preparing students for the national examinations - both KNEC AND KASNEB)
• Supervising students on attachments
• As a Dean of Students, acted as the Liaison Officer between the institution management and the student community.

• The Meru project was among three established in Kenya to implement a Micro Private Enterprise Development Project funded by USAID in 1998
• The principal objective of the project was to offer Business Development Services (BDS) that would lead to job creation and improve income levels
• The main target group was the agri-business sector
• Appraised clients need and designed appropriate interventions through, designing, Promoting and facilitating business skills and management training programs
• These were demand driven services and a fee was charged
• Designing and carrying out feasibility studies to identifying viable business opportunities and encouraging potential entrepreneurs to take them up by assisting in business plan/proposal writing and linking them to financiers/appropriate technologies and facilitating technology transfer
• Capacity building to rural women groups to mobilize resources through savings and revolving funds for enterprise development
• Business Development Services to all clients were offered at subsidized fees.
