Led and supported the implementation, monitoring, reporting, and verification of the Tsavo Biodiversity & Livelihood Initiative, focusing on biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, carbon project development, and community livelihoods within the Tsavo Conservation Area.

Key duties and responsibilities.

• Conducted community training on climate change and carbon projects.
• Conducted GIS mapping to define and validate the project area.
• Coordinated project baseline data, analysis, documentation, and reporting to support carbon project development and monitoring.
• Conducted project stakeholder workshop meetings to co-develop project intervention plans.

• Supported project compliance with Kenya carbon market regulations 2024, the Climate Change (Amendments) Act 2023, IPCC 2006 National GHG Accounting, the Paris Agreement, Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and VCS VM0032, VM0048, and VM0042 Methodologies.
• Identified implementation risks and provided recommendations for mitigation, and improved project performance.
• Prepared technical reports, presentations, and project updates for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintained project records and documentation to support monitoring, reporting, verification, and decision-making.
• Communicated project objectives, progress, achievements, and impacts to project stakeholders.
• Provided technical input into strategies for advancing climate mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable community livelihoods.

Supported the development of carbon projects throughout the project cycle, including feasibility assessment, project design, registration, validation, verification, monitoring, and reporting, with particular experience in Kenya's Jurisdictional REDD+ project under the ART-TREES Standard.
